Glionics is developing microglial replacement therapy as a means of delivering biologics to the brain for the treatment of

neurodegenerative diseases of aging. Our engineered microglia can deliver proteins such as neurotrophic factors,

immunomodulatory cytokines, and anti-aggregation factors, overcoming the hurdle presented by the blood-brain barrier.

Microglia are the resident immune cells of the brain, responsible for surveilling the brain for pathogens and damage.

They are uniquely mobile, and capable of rapidly repopulating the brain if they are depleted. Our therapy replaces

resident cells through the use of a proprietary combination of inhibitors and supportive factors that allow donor

microglia to quickly proliferate and migrate throughout the brain, achieving long-term engraftment.
